The Maruti Alto is one of the best-selling small cars in India. Its nearest rival the Hyundai Eon comes at Rs 2.74 lakh-Rs 3.76 lakh.The new Alto delivers a mileage of 22.74 kmpl as compared to 21.1 kmpl of Eon. The Alto 800 small car also gets a range of improvements, with stuff ranging from a brand new dashboard and interiors to a revamped engine and gearbox. Maruti Suzuki offers the Alto 800 in a price range starting from Rs. 2.44 lacs and going till Rs. 3.56 lacs The Alto 800 entry-level small car comes trimmed with a 0.8 litre, 796 cc, 3 cylinder petrol power, which churns out a peak power and torque delivery of 47 bhp and 69 Nm, respectively, offer an additional 15 mm rear leg space.
The car's boasts off an incredible fuel efficiency of 22.74 km per litre on petrol,while its fuel efficiency of 30 km per litre on CNG.The two-part grille looks quite modern with the large hexagonal air intake in the bumper and the slim upper grille with its chrome strip. The headlights are high-mounted and petal-shaped.
Whilst the Alto 800 may be completely new on the outside, under the skin, there are plenty of bits carried over from the outgoing car.
