Farzana Raja told UK to provide 390 million pound & WB $150 million for Waseela-e-Taleem Programme. Three million children would be sent to schools under Waseela-e-Taleem Programme,that is being launched as a pilot project in five districts followed by 20 districts by the end of the year,nine million children of the age of five.According to her the programme would fund two hundred rupee per child and education of three children of a family
President Asif Ali Zardari and Gordon Brown launched Waseela-e-Taleem Programme aimed at enrolling three million children in Pakistan during next four years.Waseela-e-Taleem Programme lays solid foundation for a brighter future for poor children,to achieve Universal Primary Education.
The President appreciated DFID, World Bank,Asian Development Bank, USAID and the governments of United Kingdom, China and Turkey for their assistance.UN Special Envoy and former prime minister of UK Gordon Brown assured that Every girl and boy are special and they have unique talents, he said adding the whole international community wishes to support Pakistan in its endeavours to provide education to children. President Zardari and Gordon Brown distributed certificates among children who will get money for
education under Waseela-e- Taleem.
