Malala Yousafzai sent to UK for treatment

Malala Yousafzai has been sent to the UK for further treatment,following the decision of the board of doctors treating her in the military hospital and with the consent of her family members. Malala an outspoken advocate for girls’ education – was shot in the head and neck as she waited for a school bus last Tuesday in the north western district of Swat.
After her initial treatment in a local hospital, she had been receiving care at a military hospital in Rawalpindi for the past few days. According to reports in the international media, Malala will be treated at the Queen Elizabeth hospital in Birmingham.
Earlier Pakistan Ambassador in United Arab Emirates (UAE) had told Geo News that an air ambulance had arrived from UAE to shift Malala abroad as part of the contingency plans. ISPR spokesman said that 14-year-old Malala Yousafzai, whose shooting has drawn condemnation abroad and at home, will require prolonged care to fully recover physically and psychologically.
